"The best thing about tonight's that we're not fighting
"And could it be that we have been this way before?"

--Secondhand Serenade

These lines are great, but it's the way he sings it plus the meaning that just kills.
"And I should have been
"Your everything"

--Mayday Parade

Ouch.

"Well, you can't get what you want
"But you can get me"

--Gorillaz

Cry
I honestly wish I had come up with this

"When you're dreaming with a broken heart
"Waking up is the hardest part"

--John Mayor

I don't usually like his music, but this song is really good.
"Six years later, father dies in the very same bedroom
"Many say it was the grief that did it
"I have to say it's 'cause he hung himself"

--Radical Face

I'm sorry, I'm sorry, this is super dark.  And the song has a bad language word, so I don't listen to it anymore since I found out.  But this line, ughh.  Sorry for appreciating dark things, this is just really meaningful.  The song is about "how the writer grew up..." but Radical Face has like three different songs with three different stories of how he grew up, so whatever.
"Please take a long, hard
"Look through your text book
"'Cause I'm history"

--Owl City

This play on words makes me so happy.

"As life replayed, we heard a voice proclaim
"'Lay your weapons down!
"'They're calling off the war
"'On account of losing track
"'Of what we're fighting for'

"So we made our way back home
"Let our cuts and bruises heal
"While a brand new war began
"One that no one else could feel"

--Sleeping At Last

This entire song, "Mars," is pure genius.
"But you've stolen my air catcher
"And I don't know if I want it back"

--Twenty One Pilots

Yeah man
"It is the beauty of our flaws that will define us
"So don't hold on to all the things you never had
"Just remember we're the good, the bad, the lovely
"It is the sanity of life that makes us mad"

--Gabrielle Aplin

Amen.
"I thought I heard the captain's voice
"But it's hard to listen while you preach"

--U2

I don't really know why I like these lyrics so much, but I do.
"There are certain people
"You just keep coming back to
"She is right in front of you"

--The Fray

These words get me every time.
"We are the reckless, we are the wild youth
"Chasing visions of our futures
"One day we'll reveal the truth
"That one will die before he gets there"

--Daughter

These lyrics are painfully pessimistic, and I do not agree with them at all.  However, they're still really powerful and do a phenomenal (big word) job of getting her point across.
"I wish I could cross my arms
"And cross your mind"

--Owl City

Who knew the first words I'd post would be from Adam Young? :P  Seriously though, I'm in love with these lyrics.
